We will be leading worship this coming Sunday morning, March 4, in the 11:00 am service.  Here is the plan:

  • 10:00 am - Set up chairs and stands (for those of you who can help)
  • 10:15 am - Warm-up and play through materials.  Please be on time, in your seats, with music and instruments, wearing your favorite black and white.  We have a lot to do and a short amount of time to do it.  Stragglers just slow us down.  :)
  • 11:00 am - Worship service.  Prelude:  Saved and Forgiven   Offertory:  Wondrous Love
We will dismiss after the Offertory.  You are free to leave then.  Also, please leave your belongings and cases in the baptistry (I'll lock everything up while we are in the service).

If you will not be here for this performance, please send me a text or email to let me know, even if you have already told me (I'm forgetful).  I need to get an accurate chair and stand count.

Don't forget:  No Evening Rehearsal!!!

Thanks so much for all your hard work.  You are an amazing group of people that are capable of making some gorgeous music when you work together.  I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

On March 4, we will be playing for the 11:00 am worship service.  Please let me know if you will not be here for this performance (in case I need to find someone to fill in for you). You can email me at flutist@charter.net.

We will be playing two hymns, which you will get in our next rehearsal.  Also we will be playing Saved and Forgiven and Wondrous Love.  Please listen to the recordings so we can save some time in rehearsal.

The Annie Moses Band will be performing at our church March 18 at 6:00 pm.  This is such an amazing group, a performance you do not want to miss!  Invite friends and family, or whomever else you wish.  Child care will be provided in our preschool area.  For more information about this group, go to anniemosesband.com.

Hello Everyone!  Welcome to the FBC Orchestra Blog.  This will be a continuous work-in-progress, because the information on this page will change every week.  I'm am hoping this method of communication will work well for us.  I want to be able to give everyone all the information needed to stay in-the-know about the happenings of our group.

So let me give you a brief introduction:

On the left, you will find a current schedule.  I will let you know if I have made changes to it so you can update your personal calendars.

On the right, is a list of all the pieces we should have in our folders.  If you roll your cursor over a title and it lights up, that means that clicking on it will take you to a recording of that piece.  Mostly, the recordings are on publisher websites.  Just look for the gray music player bars, or in some cases little blue play buttons, to start those recordings.  When you finish, just hit the back button on your browser to return to our page.

In the middle, you will find announcements, listed with the most recent announcement up top.  My goal is to update this page every Thursday.  So please check this page each week before rehearsal for any last minute changes you need to be aware of.  I have the blog set up so that you can access the announcements easily from any smart phone.

Just so you are aware, I value your privacy.  You will never see any member's name or any personal information on this page.  Viewers are not allowed to post any comments or make changes to anything on this page.  Only my name and email address are listed at the bottom to allow me to be contacted should someone want any more information about our group.  Those of you who are members will still find my email and phone number listed on our weekly orchestra notes.

So that's it.  If you have suggestions for improvements (which I would love to have) or comments, send me an email.  I need all the help I can get!!
